Age of Unification - part 3

After a bit of rearranging, I can field this list for a Unification Wars game (using Age of Sigmar rules) with the models I have already completed. There are more things I'd like to do for this force but it's really satisfying to see them as a unified whole already!

Age of Unification - part 2

Gene-enhanced Cohort 75-Phi, nicknamed The Flying Hogfish - a unit raised by the techno-barbarian warlords of Ursh, here in the deserts of the north-western border, on the edge of the Terrawatt Clans territory, with their itinerant psionic witch.

Tragek Hierigos, leader with an adrathic pistol and axe

Atrak Hexcowl, a perfectly safe Psionic Witch. Not dangerous at all...

Blunk

Ongot

Prass

Moland

Jominy

Stamper

I plan to use the Seraphon Battletome to represent the gene-enhanced techno-barbarians soldiers (Saurus Warriors and Temple Guard), "normal" humans (Skinks with Bolt-spitters), Psionic Witches (Skink Starpriests), battle automata (Kroxigors) and a selection of crude salvaged vehicles and war machines (Seraphon dinosaurs!).

I'm going to give all the models for this double-duty; as they will fit in with my Tor Megiddo warbands style so they can feature in our ongoing campaigns set there, and all the models I've made for Tor Megiddo can potentially see action in the Unification Wars too. I'll get some group shots of units and support vehicles soon.

Age of Unification - part 1

During the Age of Strife the great nations of Terra descended into anarchy, cut off from their growing galactic empire by unrelenting warp storms the planet began to consume itself as tyrants and warlords vied for control for dwindling resources and war scarred landmasses. At the beginning of the War of Unification the man who would come to be known as the Emperor revealed himself with legions of genetically modified Thunder Warriors and Custodes as he sought to conquer Terra and unite her in fresh conquest.

However he did not find himself unopposed, each of the great nations having amassed weapons and war gear from the Dark Age of Technology and armies of gene-modified soldiers of their own. Some sought to employ dark warp magics to hold onto their territories whilst others resorted to chemical warfare to keep the enemy at bay, elsewhere hordes of Techno-barbarians sought to take advantage of a planet constantly at war with itself to forge their own empires.

I'm dabbling in the Unification Wars project ( https://www.kitbashed.co.uk/unification-wars ) - the idea of using Age of Sigmar rules to represent this mysterious period of Warhammer 40k history appeals a lot. The freedom to represent units as "proxy" units for AoS Warscrolls offers a lot of scope - for example; Stormcast rules for Thunder Warriors, Orruks and Seraphon rules for Techno-Barbarians, Skaven rules for Dark Age of Technology weapons, etc.

I have a plan to use the Seraphon Battletome to represent the gene-enhanced techno-barbarians soldiers (Saurus Warriors and Temple Guard), "normal" humans (Skinks), Psionic Witches (Skink Starpriests), battle automata (Kroxigors) and a selection of crude salvaged vehicles and war machines (Seraphon dinosaurs!). I picked Ursh almost at random, but looking into it this snippet definitely appeals:
Ruled over by the tyrant Kalagann, Ursh employed powerful psionic witches in its armies and used their might to unleash dangerous warp powers on its enemies.
I'm going to give all the models for this double-duty; as they will fit in with my Tor Megiddo warbands style so they can feature in our ongoing campaigns set there, and all the models I've made for Tor Megiddo can potentially see action in the Unification Wars too.

The first new warband is the Flying Hogfish:

Tragek Hierigos, gang leader with plasma pistol and axe
Warcry Untamed Beasts leader with Goliath forearms/hands/weapons, Adeptus Mechanicus Tech-Priest Manipulus head, Goliath and Ork armour, greenstuff furs and fabric.

Blunk
Spanner and stub pistol, spines and furs.

Ongot
Bolter and power axe, spines and furs

Atrak Hexcowl, Psionic Witch
Delaque with kairic acolyte head and right hand, horned animal skull on back, furs

Prass
Bolter, spines and furs

This group are already undercoated and zenithal primed - so painting has kinda started.

Tor Megiddo "Grillet Box", part 3

Choking on the dirt and sand
Your former glories and all the stories
Dragged and washed with eager hands
But, oh oh your city lies in dust, my friend

My Tor Megiddo / Underhive "Grillet Box" is completed!

I might return to it to add a few more details later but I am calling it done for now. I have plans for a second which I will sketch up and share soon (and I definitely want to make eight in total, so they are the same area as a Kill Team board! But that is a long-term project. I'll take it one at a time for now...) but I have other things I need to work on for a while at least.

We have a few campaigns for various systems/settings sketched out (and a Warcry campaign paused that we started before lockdown, that we will pick up again as soon as we can) before we return to Tor Megiddo, so I have time to work on other projects then come back to this one.
