This was almost the same modified version of the Sweep and Clear mission as our last game. (Deployment Zones were changed to 9" squares in the corners of the same (long) edge of the board. The 4 objective markers were placed on the opposite edge, 5" apart. The large Rustmen were used as moving scenery -  they each moved a random amount (using an old Artillery Dice) toward the deployment edge at the start of turn 1. Then at the start of turn 2, and subsequent turns, a Scatter Dice and an Artillery Dice were used to move each of them. They blocked line-of-sight and movement but didn't have any active weapons).

But this time, as there were three of us playing, I took control of the "small" Rustman - represented this time by Old Boiler Plate and The Dragon. They had basic Ogryn stats and counted as a third Kill Team. And I bloody loved it!!

The final VP totals were:

The Disciples of the Black 5VP (one objective controlled and 2 kills)
The Purebred 3VP (for one objective controlled)

As both of the warbands managed to take a single objective they are both through the Gate and into Ferrugo Pass!

Viktor's side of this adventure (and the last one!) are here.

  1. Nice! I really like the presentation of the action from the point of view of the semi-functional defence system.

  2. That's a great looking game, although I did find this one a little difficult to keep up with. Have you thought about putting the description of the battle at the beginning rather than the end? It might make it easier to understand what is going on.

    1. Thanks Castigator - that's a good idea. I will give it a try!
