After being frustrated by building the
Black Ark Corsairs
kit (even though they were nice to paint) I decided to get something much
newer to work on and bought myself the new ork boyz (the ones that were first
released in a Combat Patrol box). Obviously I wanted to make more orruk
pirates from them! They were a joy to work with, not only because they are a
new kit, but because they are orks/orruks - I'm clearly back in my comfort
zone!!
The models go together really nicely. They have nice dynamic poses, that are
different to the "standard" ork boyz but still look and feel the same style.
Their "techie" parts are fairly minimal and for 6 of them very easy to remove
(the Boss and slugga/choppa boyz). The remaining 4 (shootas) needed a little
bit more work but they were really not very hard to modify.

Lord Krashhart - Ironjawz Warchanter explorer.
Calls himself the best sword, the best shot, the best sailor and the best
smasher in the Realms.
He wears a big hat with a bone hatpin and a teal feather, striped trousers,
and a sleeveless jacket. He carries his favourite weapon: a Gorkstick (made
from a long-handled blunderbuss!), and has a bag of "magic" bones, a pair of
pistols and a small spyglass on his back. He is impatient, impetuous, brash
and loud.
(Krashhart will probably see most tabletop action as part of the Swordfyshes - a crew of Ironjawz orruk pirates. But he will join the Cleavermaws for a little while first.)

Fender Grak
Wielding an axe, wearing a big hat and carrying a small collection of shiny
junk on his back.
Like the rest of The Cleavermaws, when Kaptain Mogrum accidentally became a
Wurrgog Prophet, he became convinced that he is an expert in magic and all
things arcane.
+++
Dogvane Murt
Another of The Cleavermaws, loaded up with "arcane" devices and trinkets.
Likes shouting insults at his enemies and his friends.
+++
Dorglut Flog
Hook-handed after some trouble with a large turtle, Dorglut now prefers to
keep his distance a bit. Wielding a spear, wearing a big hat. Loaded up with
“arcane” trinkets on his back.
+++
Deadlight Zag
Always in a hurry to the next fight... or from the last one. Running, wielding
an axe, wearing a big hat. Loaded with a collection of “arcane” junk on his
back
+++
Wrekka Groz
Likes a fist-fight and carries what he claims to be a looted Kharadron Spell
in a Bottle. Wears a big hat with a couple of shin bones for decoration.
+++
Crowsnest Dag
An okay-ish lookout who took his nickname very literally when it came to
picking a hat decoration.
+++
Rudder Azag
A helmsman who really likes being in a boarding party, often at the expense of
attentive steering when the action gets a bit hot.
+++
Harbour Skag
Impetuous and bad tempered, but an excellent shanty singer.
+++
Ropesend Drak
Lost an eye and the ability to speak when a cannon exploded. Just says
"Yaargh!" in response to everything.

These ladz will feature in my adventures in Animosity IV (which is coming this summer) alongside Kapitan Mogrum, Da Baron, Lost Uzzog, Mr Sludga and the rest of the Cleavermaws.
