Machine Cult Pilgrims of Tor Megiddo, part 2

Eight more of the faithful join the procession across the red-orange desert in search of lost gods. I like the idea that some of them are trying to use battered old sensors and scanners to find archeotech relics, while others are just lugging bits of scrap tech they revere as holy relics.

I assembled the Tech-Priest Manipulus with lots of parts removed or left off to give him a more stripped-back and less of a "heavily armed" look. I used a lot of the left-overs for the other pilgrims in this group but there are also parts from Genestealer Cults Neophytes, Freeguild Archers and Militia, Adeptus Mechanicus Skitarii and Rust-Stalkers, Poxwalkers, and probably a few other sources!

Machine Cult Pilgrims of Tor Megiddo, part 1

I pray for a sound, a sound above my head.
The distant sound of thunder, moving out on the dunes.
My lord, there’s an ocean of dust
In this kingdom of rust
I long to feel some rain upon my face
As I go searching, out in the waste.
My lord, it takes an ocean of trust
Takes an effort it does, In this kingdom of rust

Viktor is working on some solo-play Necromunda scenarios for Tor Megiddo, so I dug out this project again.

A procession of Machine Cult Pilgrims, who wander the rust-deserts searching for lost gods.

+++

An Age of Sigmar Battlemage with a Skitarii Ranger head, a Machine Cult Icon and greenstuff ragged robes.

+++

Larsen Vander Grauss (from Kill Team:Rogue Trader) with his weapon arm removed, a Delaque walking cane arm added and greenstuffed ragged robes.

+++

Pious Vorne (from WHQ Blackstone Fortress) with her flamer removed and a Genestealer Cults Neophyte left arm with a Machine Cult Icon added in place of the Genestealer one.

+++

A Delaque ganger with one of Cawl’s small augmetic arms (holding teeny-tiny keys!), a Magos Dominus walking cane arm, a Skitarii Ranger head, and assorted weird tech stuff on her back and greenstuffed ragged robes.

Update: painted!

Grimdark Cards Challenge

The #GrimdarkCards challenge was started on Instagram by Ross (theendsoftheearthart) and there are a few hundred people taking part now!

To take part in the challenge, you have to send Ross a DM and he will draw a random Dark Millenium card for you. You have to try and reproduce the card's John Blanch art, in miniature form.

I got the 10 of Mechanicus:

My attempt is Gamma-Delta-Mu-10, the Datasmith of a lost Tor. I have been thinking of him as an NPC for the next Tor Megiddo campaign, and he has made the cogs start turning (I know, I know! Sorry.) in my head for a story we could use as the basis of the campaign's narrative...

The only thing I bought to make my entry was the Delaque kit (but I wanted some anyway for other projects), the rest of the parts I used were already in my bits box, left over from other things. This build used a Delaque legs and torso, Cawl's arms, Datasmith head, Skitarii backpack, Devastator Servoskull.

Oil and Blood, Tor Megiddo - part 9

A bumper update this time as I had a very productive weekend!

Fist up: two new gang members for Patrol 5 (Halman Druukan’s wasteland Venator Band).

Ort - a Dustpunk Acolyte
Made from a Flagellant with a Genestealer Cults Neophyte's bolt pistol, Drukhari Wych's knife, a Skitarii head, a servo-skull (I don't know where from) and greenstuffed desert robes.

Kanth - Dustpunk Acolyte Champion
Made from an Orlock heavy stubber ganger with a Tempestus Scion head and greenstuffed desert robes.

Patrol 5 together:

Next up is a new Champion for the Slipgibbets (techno-barbarian desert mutants):

Leech - a Mutant Champion with heavy stubber.
A Genestealer Cults Neophyte with a Chaos Forsaken head and greenstuffed fur.

+++

The Vulture - a Rustman
Made from an Armiger Warglaive with the head replaced by the Dragon Skull from an Aleguzzler Gargant's club, most armour plates replaced by Ogor and Ironjawz Brutes armour, the top "melta" style barrel replaced with the muzzle from an Onager Dunecrawler Neutron Laser for a bit of a "combi-weapon" look.

The Vulture with the Dragon and Old Boilerplate....

...and the Sumpcrawler.

There will be quite a few Rustmen featuring in Oil And Blood as my Dunecralwer and Kastelans will also be appearing. They will all get used in games as a kind of "aggressive scenery" - I will be sharing the Necromunda rules for them in a future post.

Inspired by Ana's beautiful Gardens of Hecate playing cards I've made a handful of (more post-apocalyptic!) tarot/playing cards for Tor Megiddo.

They will have no in-game purpose but I really like atmospheric off-table stuff (plus the original Tor Megiddo and the Rhossum Secundus games had similarly styled cards for turn-priority, and special powers, which I also made).

#Diceporn - the Van Saar Necromunda dice are the ones I plan to use for the Oil and Blood: Tor Megiddo campaign. They are just lovely, and have a bit of an oil/petrol/smoke look to them, so they feel right for Tor Megiddo.
