I've had difficulty finding time for hobby lately. As a result of this, it's taken over 6 weeks to get this project finished, but finished it is.
I bought the kit at Warhammer World, when I was there for a Warcry tournament at the end of March, with GW vouchers I was given for my birthday.
I've been picking away at it ever since, moving very slowly forward in small steps. I was worried I would be distracted by another project before it was done, but I was able to stay focused.
I built it slightly off-book - I used the Ironjawz metal jaw option and the Kruleboyz wooden mask option. But purely because I liked the look of both together. There won't be any confusion about which version of its Warscroll it uses, since they can only appear in the corresponding army faction. I added a second, slightly larger platform on top, as a crowsnest, so a Megaboss can fit on it.
The large rock (from a Skaven Gnawhole kit), the broken timbers, and the greenstuff crabs were all added to emphasise the beach / coastal atmosphere.
I also added a piece of mast (from a Gloomtide Shipwreck) to form a "crossbones" with the large bone the kit already includes.
I hope that, and the white paint job, make it look like a jolly roger / skull-and-crossbones!
Looks great! Your additions make it look appropriately piratey, the skull and crossbones theme was a fantastic idea!
ReplyDeleteThanks mate! As soon as they previewed it I'd started thinking about whether to scratch-build or convert a Bossrokk, and what I would change if I converted it. So by the time I bought it my plans were for a skull-and-crossbones pretty much decided. It was just a matter of trying bits for scale and fit. 😁
